Conscious Dreaming
“The image has touched the depths before it has stirred the surface”
~Gaston Bachelard
OPENARt PROJECTS Presents:
Conscious Dreaming
Taking Gaston Bachelard's book, The Poetics of Space (1958), as a starting point, the exhibition explores the human relationship to space, through interaction with poetic images, presented as both two dimensional planes and three dimensional forms. We explore ideas of poetic space and its ability to connect with our deepest levels of being.
The artists in this exhibition, presented by Open Art Advisory, explore our ontological relationship to space through imagery that avoids direct representation, yet establishes a mysterious psychological connection between object and audience. Bachelard says, “through the brilliance of an image, the distant past resounds with echoes”, and the intention with this presentation is to take the audience on a journey through a maze of such echoes.
